Yachts

There are many different classes of model yacht. Some are designed for competitive racing, others are designed for casual sailing for fun whilst others are scale replicas of full size famous yachts.

The sails are normally controlled from the radio control system using a winch. This winch can pull in or let out the sails. This allows the skipper with the radio to maximise the use of the wind just like the crew on a real yacht.

The rudder is also under radio control.
